About

My background is in arts education, and I hold a BA (Hons) in Art, Design and Media, a PgCert in Arts Education, an MA in Contemporary Art Theory, a Certificate in Higher Education in International Relations and am currently writing my doctoral thesis on Compassionate Assessment. I have published widely in academic journals and edited book collections.

My teaching philosophy is simple: Learning thrives when it is rooted in inclusion, curiosity and collaboration. I believe assessment should empower rather than harm, and that education should nurture not only knowledge but also confidence, creativity, and connection. For me, teaching is about creating inclusive spaces for people to flourish academically and personally.

My outputs span a range of creative approaches and support my commitment to dialogic, collaborative and affective knowledge exchange to enact social, racial and climate justice. I regularly shares expertise on pass/fail grading, trauma-informed policy and compassionate assessment for educational conferences, institutional workshops and sector-wide events. As an arts practitioner, I also deliver workshops and staff development on a range of topics and often use creative materials to collaboratively explore themes, such as using Lego, zine-making, sculpture, hosting listening workshops, walking sessions and outdoor events. I have lived and taught in Vietnam and Turkey and currently work with transnational partners to curate academic enhancement events to support learning and teaching across borders and cultures.

I’m committed about working with others to reimagine higher education as a space of compassion and possibility. Thank you for visiting my site - I’d love to share ideas and conversations that help make this vision real.
